These homeowners didn’t have to sell their house to get a new-house feel. The problem: the first floor layout was not working for their family any longer. The solution: opening up the wall between the dining room and kitchen to give the two rooms a better flow. We bumped out the kitchen wall in the back of the house so the owners could put in a large island with lots of storage and seating. We revamped the mudroom and with more storage and built-ins as well as updating the half bath with wallpaper and wainscoting. We removed the two rarely used sliders in the family room and replaced them with two large windows which still let in a lot of sunlight. We added two smaller windows which flank the fireplace along with a fresh coat of white paint which makes the space feel larger and coordinates with the kitchen. The renovations didn’t stop on the inside either! The owner’s deck needed to be replaced and they opted for a brand-new covered deck and patio. They installed a space heater on the deck making it usable three seasons out of the year in New England!
With close proximity to the city and public transportation, our Ripley project was a commuter’s dream location. We raised an existing dated two-family and rebuilt it as a new two-unit condo building with a modern feel. We gave these homes a sleek vibe with modern flat front cabinets, funky tile, and a luxurious steam shower in the Primary Bathroom.
The original house that sat on this lot, was built 150 years ago and was in need of some updating. When the developer asked us if we would be interested in taking on this project, we happily agreed to be a part of it. Located right outside of Boston, with close proximity to public transportation, fabulous shops and restaurants, is what makes these opulent condos highly desirable. Each unit consists of an eat in kitchen with wet bar and high-end appliances, five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and a powder room, as well as a bonus room on the third floor. The attention to detail, and location in the highly desirable city of Newton is what makes each unit spectacular place to live!
We went outside the box with the Primary Bathroom in our Edwards Road project; adding a beautiful wet room with a soaking tub and rainfall shower head for a relaxing spa-like feel. Custom carpentry could be found throughout the house; from the coiffured ceiling in the living room, to the built-ins in the mudroom, and a beautiful accent wall in the dining room, making this house feel like one-of-a-kind.
These homeowners were a pleasure to work with. Their cape style home layout was no longer working for their family. They were running out of space as well as storage. The solution: a garage, mudroom, kitchen and primary suite addition.
What this addition entailed was an added on two car garage with a storage behind it for the homeowners collection of bikes. A new mudroom and family room were added off the back of the house giving the owners access from the garage right into the new mudroom. The kitchen layout was completely updated and revamped for a better flow in the new addition. Above the garage a new primary bedroom and bathroom was added. The renovations didn't stop with the new addition. The old yellow siding was ripped off and the exterior of the house was sided in Hardy cedar siding in a dark grey. Though the yellow siding was gone, the homeowner wanted to pay homage to it and painted her new front door in the same yellow color as the old siding!
This new addition will give the family more living space for years to come. Welcome Home!
When a designer reached out to us about a whole house remodel for customers of hers, we were immediately excited to be a part of this amazing project. The problem - the house was originally built in the early 1900’s, and the layout was not working for the homeowners. The solution – opening up the kitchen to give it a better flow, an addition of a Primary Suite on the second floor for more space, and even the addition of a soapstone dog feeding station for their pups!
